Eigen mand mee? Mag altijd. Of kies van het ‘manden menu’ Jarenlang vond ik het heel belangrijk dat honden hun eigen mand meenamen als ze bij mij kwamen logeren. Vertrouwd, veilig, van thuis, en dat mag nog steeds. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk… In de loop der jaren heb ik werkelijk álles voorbij zien komen: manden die duidelijk jarenlang in een schuur hadden gestaan , echt stinkende manden die speciaal voor het logeerpartijtje weer tevoorschijn werden gehaald, en slaapplekken die vooral praktisch waren, maar niet comfortabel ....juist voor oudere honden zo belangrijk. Dat botste met hoe ik comfort voor mij zag voor "mijn oudjes" en hoe ik mijn huis wil houden: schoon, fris en lekker ruikend. Dat is geen bijzaak, dat is onderdeel van de zorg. Daarom heb ik sinds februari 2026 iets nieuws: een uitgebreid manden menu. Net zoals luxe vijfsterrenhotels een kussenmenu hebben, mogen de honden hier kiezen uit:
luxe, zachte hondenmanden en in de chillruimte comfortabele banken of een love seat.
Alle manden zijn licht van gewicht, maar heerlijk plushy en ondersteunend, gevuld met zacht memory foam. Dat betekent: comfortabel voor de honden én praktisch voor mij. Ik kan ze dagelijks schoonmaken met mijn waterblazer of, indien nodig, gewoon in de wasmachine wassen. Zo blijft alles fris, hygiënisch en aangenaam.
Alles staat in mijn huis en is speciaal afgestemd op seniore honden.Wat betekent dat voor jou en jouw hond?
Is jouw hond extreem gehecht aan zijn eigen mand en is die schoon & fris? Neem ’m vooral mee. 👌🏻
Heb je een enorme houten bak met een dik kussen waarvoor je eigenlijk een aanhangwagen nodig hebt? Dan mag die met liefde thuisblijven.
Twijfel je? Dan laat je jouw hond hier gewoon kiezen van het manden menu. Dat nemen ze verrassend serieus. Alles mag. Niets moet. Behalve dit: dat je hond heerlijk comfortabel ligt, in een fris huis.
Waar slapen de honden precies?
Dat hangt af van het seizoen en hoe vol het is:
- Vooral in de zomervakantie (hoogseizoen, veel logees) slapen alle reutjes ’s nachts in de ruime chillruimte van ons hotel. Ze mogen hun eigen vertrouwde mandje meenemen, maar kiezen net zo makkelijk voor de comfortabele banken, net wat ze het fijnst vinden. Overdag staan de deuren altijd open, zodat alle seniore honden gezellig kunnen chillen op de bank, op de stoelen of in en uit lopen naar de tuin. In deze rustige ruimte draait alles om ontspanning en comfort.
- In de zomer blijft het er lekker koel dankzij goede isolatie en een grote plafondfan die voor een aangename luchtstroom zorgt.
- In de winter is het juist heerlijk warm en knus door de isolatie en verwarming.
- Overdag klinkt er zacht achtergrondmuziekje voor een kalme sfeer, en ’s nachts brandt een subtiel nachtlampje. Zo worden de honden nooit in paniek wakker in het donker en weten ze altijd precies waar ze zijn, veilig en geborgen.
- In rustige periodes (buiten de schoolvakanties) slapen de honden voornamelijk in mijn kantoor en in de bijkeuken. In het kantoor liggen alle manden van de logeerhonden. Overdag zijn ze meestal in mijn buurt, maar als ze behoefte hebben aan rust en echt willen slapen, is dit hun vertrouwde plek.
- Tijdens vakantieperiodes en in de avond, wanneer mijn man ook vrij is en er geen zakelijke afspraken van mijn man zijn, mogen de honden zich vrij bewegen over de hele begane grond. Ze kunnen dan zelf kiezen waar ze willen liggen: in de keuken, de bijkeuken of in mijn kantoor.
In het hele huis is vloerverwarming én vloerkoeling aanwezig, waardoor het altijd aangenaam is, geen koude voetjes of te warme nachten. In de chillruimte zorgen de plafondventilator en verwarming ervoor dat de temperatuur altijd prettig blijft. Zo combineren we maximale keuzevrijheid, hygiëne en seniorvriendelijk comfort. Precies zoals het wat mij betreft hoort te zijn 🤍

Own bed coming along? Always allowed. Or choose from the ‘beds menu’ For years I found it really important that dogs brought their own bed when they came to stay with me. Familiar, safe, from home, and that’s still fine. But honestly… Over the years I’ve literally seen everything pass by: beds that had clearly been sitting in a shed for years, really stinky beds that were specially dug out again just for the stay, and sleeping spots that were mostly practical, but not comfortable ....especially important for older dogs. That clashed with how I saw comfort for "my oldies" and how I want to keep my house: clean, fresh and nicely scented. That’s not a side issue, that’s part of the care. That’s why since February 2026 I have something new: an extensive beds menu. Just like luxury five-star hotels have a pillow menu, the dogs here can choose from:
luxury, soft dog beds and in the chill space comfortable sofas or a love seat. All beds are lightweight, but deliciously plushy and supportive, filled with soft memory foam. That means: comfortable for the dogs and practical for me. I can clean them daily with my water blaster or, if needed, just pop them in the washing machine. This way everything stays fresh, hygienic and pleasant.
Everything is in my house and is specially tailored to senior dogs. What does that mean for you and your dog?
Is your dog extremely attached to his own bed and is it clean & fresh? Then definitely bring it. Do you have a huge wooden crate with a thick cushion that would actually require a trailer? Then that one can lovingly stay at home.
Not sure? Then just let your dog choose from the beds menu here. They take it surprisingly seriously. Everything is allowed. Nothing is required. Except this: that your dog lies wonderfully comfortably, in a fresh house.
Where exactly do the dogs sleep?
That depends on the season and how full it is: Especially during the summer holidays (high season, lots of guests) all the boys sleep at night in the spacious chill space of our hotel. They may bring their own familiar bed, but just as easily choose the comfortable sofas, whatever they find nicest. During the day the doors are always open, so all senior dogs can happily chill on the sofa, on the chairs or walk in and out to the garden. In this quiet space everything revolves around relaxation and comfort.
In summer it stays nice and cool thanks to good insulation and a large ceiling fan that provides a pleasant airflow.
In winter it’s wonderfully warm and cozy thanks to the insulation and heating.
During the day there’s soft background music for a calm atmosphere, and at night a subtle night light burns. This way the dogs never wake up in panic in the dark and always know exactly where they are, safe and secure.
In quiet periods (outside school holidays) the dogs mainly sleep in my office and in the kitchen of the doghotel. In the office all the beds of the boarding dogs are placed. During the day they are usually near me, but if they need rest and really want to sleep, this is their familiar spot. During holiday periods and in the evenings, when my husband is also off and there are no business appointments for my husband, the dogs are allowed to move freely across the entire ground floor. They can then choose for themselves where they want to lie: in the family kitchen, the kitchen of the hotel or in my office. In the entire house there is underfloor heating and underfloor cooling present, so it’s always pleasant, no cold paws or too warm nights. In the chill space the ceiling fan and heating ensure the temperature always remains comfortable. This way we combine maximum freedom of choice, hygiene and senior-friendly comfort. Exactly as it should be in my opinion 🤍
